Publishing Samskrit Audio Books And Digital Audio-Video Study Material

BACKGROUND
Language is essentially speech medium. Hence language should be learnt through hearing and speaking only. Listening greatly helps with pronunciation, acquiring new vocabulary and quickens the learning process. Reading loud had been part of our traditional learning curriculum. Great importance is attached to reading techniques which improve the depth of understanding. The Vedic tradition is completely oral. More so where every text from dictionary, grammar, mathematics and Ayurveda is in the form of sutras or couplets. Practise of memorising the entire texts like Amarakosa, Bhagavad Gita. Ashtadyayi etc., is in vogue even now, though in small numbers.

Samskrit is rich in such text which can be enjoyed better with ones eyes closed. While every other modern language has audio books in digital form, Samskrit has not picked speed in this front. Hence it is mandatory to bring Audio Books in Samskrit. The future market will evolve once it catches the imagination of entrepreneurs.
